Kathy Murray, Founder & Co-Chair of Executive Forum Angels, is an experienced and creative business growth executive, angel investor, and advisor. Kathy’s background includes senior management roles at publicly traded firms and partnerships such as PwC, Aetna and FARO Tech. Kathy is also President of Harvard Business School Women’s Association of NY and Founder of McMorran Strategists, LLC where she provides strategic consulting, relationship marketing, and training to help businesses develop.
Kathy was Global Market Development leader at FARO Technologies Inc, the leading provider of 3D laser measurement tools. She previously created and led support functions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC) as Managing Director of Operations. Prior to 2000, she was at Aetna Inc as Senior Vice President of Aetna Retirement Services and as COO of Aetna Business Resources. Staff reporting to her has been over 3000 people with related budgets of $550 million, as well as the accountability for procurement spends of over $3 billion.
Kathy founded the Executive Forum Angels in 1995, a group of angel investors who learn about and make investments in technology and other start-up firms. It has since grown steadily to over 200 executive members with global leadership experience, and represent a broad and diverse range of industries and functional disciplines.
Kathy received a BA in Math and General Science from the University of Rochester and the Advanced Management Program degree from Harvard Business School. She also holds these professional designations: CPCU, CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant). Kathy continues to be a learning and collaborative individual evidenced by obtaining the FastTrac Technology Startup Certificate at SUNY-Levin.
